New Year, New Moments

2011 has been a year for the record books for sure. The memories that were made in 2011 were so special and I hope they will be bigger and better in 2012! This year started with a family trip to New Orleans, for Mardi Gras and my cousin Sally’s 21^st birthday. This weekend was unforgettable. We hit the ground running with parades and hand-grenades.  The year went on with trips with my friends to New York City and Las Vegas. I received a fantastic opportunity to be the Executive Director of Rock Chalk Revue at the University of Kansas.  And I moved into my Senior year of college!

This year was full of so much laughter and of so much love. I got to spend so much time with my family and friends and had some of the best moments. I can only hope that 2012 brings as much happiness as 2011, and I have to admit I have a good feeling! Wishing everyone all the best in 2012.

Like most, Christmas is a very special time of year for my family. I have a really big, obnoxious, loud family and I love nothing more than sitting around a table full of food and wine and laughing with them. This year we are so lucky, we are all going to be in one place at one time! My dad is one of five; I am one of ten cousins. And this year all of us will be together on Christmas.  

My family inspires me to try my hardest at everything I do and to never give up. “Success is only measured by how hard you try,” my Dad always says to us. They are so supportive and special to me. I wanted to take this moment to reflect on how lucky we are to have such wonderful people in our lives. These are people that want us to be creative and express the things we love to do.

I am so thankful for my family and this wonderful time of year. Enjoy every moment of it with yours!
